Gingerbread House Child Development Center, Inc. is a non-profit, state licensed Child Development Center operating five days each week in the community of Storm Lake, Iowa.

Gingerbread House provides services for before and after school care, summer school-age activities, three-year-old preschool, four-year-old preschool, and part-time or full-time day care services for children ranging from infants to twelve years.

We believe that each child is an individual human being who is valuable and unique. We believe that children develop best in an atmosphere of warm human relationships, which helps them develop positive self-images and attitudes. We believe the physical environment must never threaten, must be free of unnecessary pressures and must recognize the validity of individual differences and the varying rates of development within a group. We believe the staff should act as facilitators of the discoveries made by children.
